Day 12-Marni Pizza & Wine Bar-1/18/2025
For our final evening in Phuket, we returned to Marni Pizza & Wine Bar, a place that had already made a strong impression on us the night before. Despite its name, the restaurant offers far more than just pizza, it leans into a refined Italian menu with a clear focus on quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Marni has earned a reputation in Phuket’s dining scene, even receiving recognition and awards that highlight its elevated take on classic Italian cuisine, guided by a chef who clearly values both authenticity and creativity.

Let's start with the first night we dine here

The front of the restaurant is very low key.

Starting with fried calamari and their homemade flatbread.

The calamari was crunchy, fresh and it was really delicious.

Homemade flat bread was warm, and so comforting to eat.

Camatrician Pasta, Amatriciana, carbonara sauce, and guanciale. This dish really stands out: the amatriciana, rich with tomato and guanciale, and the carbonara, silky and deeply savory, both showcasing simple ingredients executed beautifully

Sitting outside in the warm night air with a bottle of red wine, it felt like the perfect way to savor our last moments in Phuket.

We started with a fresh salad topped with creamy burrata, light and refreshing.

Before moving on to a classic marguerite pizza, simple, but done so well with its bright tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and perfectly crisp crust.

Vongole spaghetti, with fresh caught clams, white wine, garlic, cherry tomato

The vongole spaghetti was another highlight, made with fresh clams, white wine, garlic, and cherry tomatoes, bringing a delicate, briny flavor that tasted of the sea.

Pork chop Milanese, butter caper sauce, served with a mixed salad.

The standout of the night, however, was the gigantic pork chop Milanese. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and finished with a butter caper sauce, it was incredibly satisfying. Served alongside a mixed salad, it balanced richness with freshness, and easily became one of our favorite dishes of the trip.
Our 12 days in Thailand took us on an unforgettable journey from the vibrant energy of Bangkok to the ancient ruins of Ayutthaya, where history felt alive among crumbling temples and towering Buddha statues. In Chiang Mai, we slowed down and immersed ourselves in culture, learning to cook Thai food, visiting temples, and spending time in nature before ending our trip in Phuket, where stunning beaches and dramatic limestone islands provided a beautiful, but a bit too touristy at times. From bustling cities to peaceful mountains and crystal-clear waters, the trip was filled with incredible food, memorable experiences, and a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
