VinPearl Water Park
VinPearl is a five stars resort located on Hon Tre Island (Bamboo Island) famous for its crystal clear water and surrounding mountain Valley. It is interesting to note that the Island was unexploited until 2004. It is now home to Sofitel VinPearl resort nestled on the north of the Island. Our tour Guide took us to the other side of the Island where the Water Park is located and we were able to spend half a day there. Hon Tre Island is considered one of the top 29 most beautiful bays in the world.

Cable car system linking the land with Hon Tre Island over the sea, the cable line is 3.2 kilometers long. Cost of the cable system is $6.6 million US. There is 47 cars, each of which can seat eight people, the system will be able to transport 1,000 to 1,500 people an hour, traversing the distance in nine minutes and 20 seconds.
The world’s longest cable car to cross the sea now runs from Nhat Trang to Vinpearl Land in Vietnam. The posts (there are 9 all together) on land and sea supporting the cable is modelled after the Eiffel Tower in France. |

Walking through the water Park. It is completely empty. We felt like we had the place jut for our group.

Fragrant blooming flowers. As a kid I used to pluck these flowers and I remember loving the smell of them. |
A beautiful plant coming out of the rock. |
VinPearl's big Welcome sign to the water Park. It was very weird to see the place completely deserted.
It was probably too expensive for the locals to come here (about half of their salary for one day of play).

Late Snack
We had dinner at VinPearl but our guide insisted on taking us to local restaurant specializing in Central cuisine such as Nem Nuong & cha Ram , Bun thit nuong, etc..
We noticed that a lot of restaurants are named Ngoc (pearl) + a second name.
My Brother and I as we are getting in the restaurant straight from the resort and I still have my bathing suit on. |
Yum! Bun Thit Nuong on the left and in the middle is Nem Nuong Cha Ram |
A close look at Nem Nuong cha Ram
Here the menu of the restaurant... our exchange rate is 15,000 for 1 dollar. As you can see a big bowl of Bun thit Nuong cost 75 cents, a order of Nem Nuong cost 90 cents. This is so cheap and so good!
