Day 1 - Arriving in  Nha Trang

We finally made it to Nha Trang around 5:30 PM.  Our guide dropped us off at our destination... Sunrise hotel.  As soon as we walked in the place, we all felt in love with it.  The hotel is so nice and they really know how to treat their guests.

View of the interior of the hotel

Waiting area and the bar is in the back.

The reservation desk...

The view from our room is so spectacular! The Ocean, coconut trees and the sun descending in the horizon.. What else is there in life?

A plate of fruits is waiting for us in our room.

Small type of banana and a Dragon fruit set up on a cut up banana leaf.

View from our balcony.  In the distance is Hon Tre (Bamboo Island) home of VinPearl resort (the biggest resort in Vietnam)

Waiting in the lobby...

We waited in the lobby for our guide to pick us up for our dinner reservation at 7:00PM.  Anh Huy, Hanh and Lan Huong were the first down in the waiting area.

Hoa, Kevin and I with my brother's family (Charlot, Xinh, Alex & Christopher) in the waiting area.

My two French nephews, Alex and Chris, over towering me!  They are both about 6' tall - Alex is 19 and Chris is 15.

Tram and Hanh

The bar is behind us!  Hoa ordered a Gin and Tonic.  The waiter brought out two Gin and Tonic so Hoa said: " I only ordered one! "  the waiter replied: "yes, but it is happy hour, so you get two for the price of one!"

That took us by surprise!  they have happy hour in Vietnam?  Apparently, all of the five star hotels are run by foreigner (French/English) because Vietnamese people do not have the experience yet, so the hotel is run at a very high standard.  The General Manager and staff are all Vietnamese people.  I can tell you the staff is very friendly, they are so happy to talk to us.

Dinner time...

Our guide took us to Ngoc Suong Restaurant.  Nice restaurant!  Their seafood is very good.

What's good about going with a tour is you do not need to worry about the next meal.  Everything is taken care of.  The food usually comes out about 5/10 minutes after we are seated.  There are always 8 to 10 courses at every meal.  Yep!  Life is good!

The restaurant open to a court yard in the back.  People can dine there in a very relax environment.   They also keep live sea creatures such as lobster, claims, etc.. in a big cement basin but it can not be  seen in this picture.

We are so full so we decided to walk back to the hotel (30 minutes).  Yes, we do need some exercise after sitting in the car for almost the whole day.  The walk is very nice!  There are all kind of street vendors trying to get you to buy their food....
