Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas
Day 4 |
One and only Ocean Club
We are back again... but this time with the whole group!
Tonight we had dinner reservation at Dune, The best restaurant on the island at 7:30PM. We decided to come early to the club so that the group can walk the ground and discover this beautiful, exquisite and relaxing club. This club is not even listed in the Atlantis website. I think it was meant to offer to their guests some peace, quiet time and privacy.
Again, if watch the latest James Bond, there is a scene where he enters the club (this is the entrance of the club) and they set up a table on each end of the porch to make it more lively.
I really like this picture of the group hanging around, each person checking out different part of the club.

This is the view of the ocean as soon as you walk out of the back door of the club.
This is the bar located on the left of the club and overlooking the beach.
A few cocktails before we start exploring the ground...

This place is so quiet that we felt like having a private party just for our group.

The Pool
|
Everything is so quiet and peaceful here. Definitely reserved for Adults or honeymooners! The pool leads to the cloisters garden (see below). |

The cloisters can be seen in the background. |
The Cloisters
Once, at the top of Versailles Gardens stand the remains of a 14th-century French stone monastery that were imported to the United States in the 1920s by newspaper baron William Randolph Hearst. The cloisters is one of four to have ever been removed from French soil. Forty years later, grocery-chain heir Huntington Hartford bought the Cloisters and had them rebuilt and installed at the top of athis hill on Paradise Island overlooking Nassau Harbor.
At the center of this magnificent garden stand a graceful, contemporary white marble statue called Silence, by U.S. sculptor Dick Reid.
This a breathtaking view!
Nearly every day tourists take or renew wedding vows under the delicately wrought gazebo overlooking Nassau Harbor. The Cloisters are owned by the One & Only Ocean Club, but visitors are welcome to look around. This is such a romantic site and perfect for a wedding ceremony.
