Day 5- the discovery.

After the rain we went up to our hotel room for a nap but by 3:00PM we were just bored and a few of us, Hanh, Tuan, Thuy, Hoa and I decided to go to the Ocean Club.  The others took off to play tennis.

Early in the morning Hanh and I, we stumbled into this well guarded gem called "One and Only Ocean club" accidentally by taking the wrong shuttle bus to the  tennis court.  The shuttle driver was talkative and he informed us that the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royal, was filmed at the One and Only Ocean club. The ocean club was originally a private estate that was transformed into a 52-room hotel in 1962 and since then it has evolved into a luxurious resort, the most expensive hotel in the Caribbean,  with two sprawling wings and separate villas and cottages.  So here we are back to explore the terrain.

In 2000 after a $100 million refurbishment the Ocean Club received a Conde Nast Readers' Choice Award.  The place is filled with  fragrant tropical plants with sandy white beach just a few steps away. The resort also features a golf course, Pro Shop, and Clubhouse

If you watch the James Bond movie, this is where they set up a few tables here to play texas Hold'm.

By the way, Daniel Craig aka James Bond emerged from this beach in his tight Speedo! -Watch the Movie!

Fun note: Craig—who during a recent discussion cut a more respectable figure in a tailored gray suit—says, “I remember there was discussion about "What bathing suit should he wear?". I was like, "It can’t be a Speedo and it can’t be a thong. Then you’re left with a pair of longer shorts."  It’s somewhere between the two.  And believe me, when I came out of the water, I thought, well they did this with Ursula Andress in "Dr. No" ... Hopefully it makes people smile.”

This is the view of the ocean from the bar while we are sipping our cocktails and day dreaming!

This is a hard life but someone got to do it!, and it might as well be us!

While sipping our cocktail we ordered an assorted fruit dish.  $25 for the plate but who cares... we are on vacation!
