Me in front of a Hobbit hole. Most of the scenes filmed inside the holes were on a set, leaving the Hobbit holes as facades but there are some you can walk into. The inside is only about 5 feet, but still, fun to walk in.
A large pine tree
We are now heading toward Bagshot Row
A beautiful area with a bunch of Hobbit holes.
The holes are based on different sizes to feed to the illusion of their actual
size. The holes used by actors playing hobbits were built at a 90 percent
scale, while the holes used by Gandalf were built at a 60 percent scale to
make him look much larger.

This area is famous in the movie but I cannot remember the name of this place
We are now at Bagshot Row which is a street in the Hobbiton. Frodo Bagging and Samwise Gamgee all at one point live in its immediate vicinity.
Three of the existing Hobbit hole facades were excavated and people now can go inside to visit.
We are going to enter this hobbit hole.

The tour is now over and we are heading back to Auckland with the same tour bus that picked us up this morning.
Overall, this tour was awesome. It was a lot better that we expected to me and it very well organized. Even though there are a lot of people visiting the set but the way it was set up we only interacted with our small group and felt very private.
NEXT... Dinner at Soul Bar and Bistro
