Day 10-Downtown and Breakfast, Wellington- 4/20/2024

We are walking in downtown Wellington to get breakfast this morning.

Downtown Wellington

It was around 8:00 am and the downtown area is totally deserted.

Vibrant rainbow-colored pedestrian crossing and painted pavement along Cuba Street. These colors are symbolic of inclusion and pride, and Wellington has embraced this kind of public art to celebrate its progressive values and lively arts scene.

We are headed to Cuba street.

Cuba Street is a vibrant and eclectic thoroughfare in the heart of downtown Wellington.

Renowned for its bohemian charm, the street is a hub of creativity, culture, and culinary delights.

Pedestrian walkway lined with shops and restaurants.  In the center is the Bucket fountain.

Close up view of the bucket fountain.

The street offers a diverse culinary scene, with eateries serving global cuisines.  Here is a Thai restaurant.

A huge modern sculpture made with hundreds of Handmade ceramic tiles, many with intricate and strange designs, including alien like figures located at the intersection of Cuba and Dixon streets.

Fountain in Te Aro Park.

The fountain has become a popular gathering place not just for people but also for seagulls.

We are arrived at Swimsuit Coffee too early, they don't open until 9:00 am on Saturday so we just around town until opening time.

Swimsuit Coffee, a popular café in Wellington, New Zealand. Despite its name, Swimsuit Coffee is not a swimwear-themed restaurant but a well-regarded coffee spot known for its quality brews and inviting atmosphere.

The interior is simple but yet very inviting.

Swimsuit Coffee was established by a group of passionate baristas aiming to create a space that offers exceptional coffee and a welcoming environment. The café has garnered attention for its commitment to quality and community vibe.

Americano for Hoa and for me a very good cup of Cappuccino.

We go a cozy table next to the counter.

We ordered a toast with bacon, cheese, and spinach.

The toast were so delicious!

By the time we are done with our breakfast, the restaurant as full of customers.

We are now headed to Museum of New Zealand.

NEXT... Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
