China town

After checking the hotel we decided to stop by Chinatown for lunch.  Needless to say that Kevin could not understand why we have to stop by Chinatown while in Hawaii!  We can eat Pho anywhere in the California so why do we want to check out To Chau, the famous Pho's place in Oahu.  According to the guide book there is always a line there and to make matters worse the restaurant is only open until 2:30 PM, so don't go there for dinner.  First at all, Hoa press some buttons by mistake and the pictures are black and white, this is of course not intentional

People waiting in line to get in the restaurant.  We just stayed in line to show how long the line is and this is around 2:00PM...

Turns out the restaurant is run by 4 guys.  Two guys are cooking, 1 guy taking order and the other guys is running around doing what needs to be done.  There are plenty of open tables but they are so insufficient and they do not hire enough help to maximize the use of all of their tables.  We did not even try to get in!  I am no mood to wait for 30 minutes for a bowl of pho!

This is the store front

Here I am walking around and see if there are other Vietnamese restaurants around.

There are actually a lot of Vietnamese restaurant on this street.

Ba Le sandwiches is the equivalent of Lee's sandwiches from the Bay area.

Ba le used to have their fist shop in San Jose.  They used to be so popular and then one day they just close shop and moved to Hawaii.  I heard they are doing really well in Hawaii.

Oahu market in China Town!

Lots of fruits are on display!

Check out the fruits and vegetables for dirt cheap!

Next.. Dinner at Doraku
