Magic Turning Table in Da Lat
The round table, known as the "miracle table" to locals, is claimed to be two centuries old and to have magical properties which enable it to turn left or right or faster an slower per your command.  People are supposed to lightly place their hands on the table and will it to move to the right or left- per your command.. and you can talk in any languages and the table will move.  Truth or it is a bunch of Baloney?

Here is the table, looking absolutely normal without any motor of any kind. The owner of the table is standing on the left and explaining to us what to do.

Vu, Kevin and Alex decided to try it out.  They keep shouting " faster, Slower, to the left... to the right" and basically the table does move to their command.

Tram decided to join in and try it out...

Sometimes the table does not seem to follow their instruction then the owner steps in and put his hands lighty on the table and does the trick.

The owner takes the table apart and turned the table upside down and put the table on a plastic stool.

Then the owner ask the youngest volunteer from our group, Kevin in this case, to sit on the table.  Next, he asked us to put our hands lightly on top of the table and start shouting "right... Left..."

to our surprise the table move gently to the right and left.  Remember the surface of the table is rested on a plastic stool and Kevin is sitting on top!

I don't know if this table is magic or not but on inspection of the table it looks legit.. who knows if they have a trick or not!   all I know is we had a good time playing with the table.

The owner only takes donation so we gave him about 10,000 dong = 70 cents per family.

Next stop... shopping for dry fruits

Da lat is known for their best dry fruits so we asked our guide to stop a local store so we can purchase some to take back to the U.S.

They have so many different type of dry fruits there... Name it and they have it.

I am walking inside the store checking out the goods.

Sample for the visitors.. I think we gulped down on a bunch of them.

This is such a funny story I have to tell...

I am checking around in the store and then I noticed these jars.   I am reading out loud the label on the jars... Ruou Pin and I turned around and ask Hoa: " do you know what is Ruou Pin?".  A man in his late 50's, standing next to me,  turned around and gave me the dirty look and then blurted out with disdain :Troi Oi, Ruoc Pin ma khong biet Ha? (Oh my god!, you don't know what is Ruou Pin?)

Hoa and I, we just looked at each other and then we realized that Pin means (animal penis)! Then we really cracked up for a while.

Look on the right of the picture (in the jar) and you will see a dry long tiger's penis!  Yep pretty disgusting but according to the locals,  the potion (wine + marinated tiger penis+ some dry ingredients) is supposed to be equivalent of Viagra.

Good luck guys!  you now have a choice between Viagra or Ruou Pin.. Your pick!

We went by Da Lat Market to dropped off Vinh there.  He has an Aunt that has a store in the Market.

Next...Bao Dai's summer residence
