Day 4- Dinner at Villa Adentro , Faro-5/14/2022

Villa Adentro is located in a lovely square in a historic building.  We sat outside because the weather was so nice so I did not see the interior.  They offer traditional Portuguese dishes with a modern twist.

Good thing we made reservation as the restaurant is pretty full but the time we get there.

 

We got a love table right in the center.

 

Very love place to have dinner.

 

 

Menu are brought out and we are ready to order.

 

 

 

Across the street from the restaurant there is a water bowl for dogs and on the poster is said: A pause to wet your snout!

 

Funny how they set the table by turn the plate face down.  

 

Octopus Carpaccio flavored with red fruits and arugula sauce - 9.50 Euros

 

We shared this appetizer.

 

The octopus was very good but the red fruits and the sauce are a bit too sweet for me.

 

For our main dish I selected the Xarém with razor clams à bulhão pato (Clams with lemon and garlic) -14 Euros

 

Xarém is a traditional Portuguese dish and a specialty of Algarve taht is prepared by combining corn flour, white wine, clams, smoked bacon, ham, pork sausages, and seasongings.

Really delicious and I love the razor clams, excellent sauce that is similar to a cioppino.

Hoa ordered the Monk fish loin wrapped in bacon with mustard sauce

 

The monk fish has an excellent texture, everything on this plate was delicous.  The sauce was super rich so we could not eat the whole thing but overall a solid dish.

 

The restaurant has a friendly and relax atmosphere, sitting outside is really nice, the food is good, and the service was also really good.
