Day 18-Diamond Beach-6/13/2024
From Buyuk Harbor, the drive to Diamond Beach already feels like entering another world, and once we arrived, the view from the top is breathtaking.

Standing on the upper cliffs, you can see the beach far below, framed by dramatic limestone cliffs that drop sharply into the sea.

Rising out of the water are the jagged rock formations that give Diamond Beach its name, tall and angular like natural sculptures, surrounded by layers of turquoise and deep blue ocean

The sand looks almost unreal from above, bright white with a soft, powdery glow, shaped like a hidden cove.

We are now standing on the catwalk, a narrow carved walkway hugs the cliffside, zigzagging all the way down to the beach.

From above, it looks both impressive and intimidating, emphasizing just how steep the cliffs are. Even without going down, the upper viewpoint offers a perfect panorama: waves crashing gently onto the shore, sunlight reflecting off the water, and the wind carrying the sound of the ocean up to where we stand.

Beautiful blue turquoise water surrounding the area.

Looking out toward the ocean and you will see several massive, jagged limestone rock formations jutting out of the turquoise sea.

These sharp, angular shapes are what give the beach its name. On a clear day, the way the sunlight hits the white rock and the water makes them look like glittering gemstones.

The view from up here is simply amazing!

Panoramic view of the area.

On the right you can see the catwalk which is is widely considered one of the most beautiful staircases in the world. As you walk down those 166 limestone steps, you are literally hugging the side of a massive cliff.

On top of the hill is the Diamond Beach Viewpoint warung (small cafe) and from the cliff top, the people on the stairs look like ants. It really gives you a sense of just how massive those 656ft. limestone walls are.

We are now standing on top of cliff looking directly down at Diamond Beach below

Standing there at the top, the centerpiece of the bay is the massive limestone monolith, a jagged triangle of rock that pierces the ocean like a giant, rough-cut diamond.
Below, the pristine crescent of white sand is framed by a towering wall of sun-bleached rock.

While the water shifts in a perfect gradient from pale mint at the shoreline to a deep, royal navy beyond the reef. From this height, the ocean looks like a sheet of shimmering turquoise glass, making the giant rock and the tiny, adventurous figures on the beach feel like a scene from a prehistoric paradise.

This specific spot is the ultimate "edge of the world" seat.

Sitting there with my feet dangling over the void, the scale of Diamond Beach really is dizzying, cinematic perspective that few places on Earth can match.

As we moved along the ridge and the end of cliff is the famous Thousand Islands (Pulau Seribu) viewpoint.

Walkway to the end of the cliff.

Perched on the very tip of a narrow, th small thatched-roof structure looks like it’s floating between the sky and the sea. It sits on a jagged limestone spine that juts far out into the Indian Ocean, making it look incredibly brave against the massive scale of the surrounding cliffs.
