Maison Kayser
Maison Kayser was founded by Eric Kayser in Paris
in 1996 when he opened his first bakery, Rue Monge, in the heart of the
Quartier Latin in Paris, France. It was an immediate success and as of
today, Maison Kayser has over 100 shops in over 20 different countries! Each
Maison Kayser location around the world is organized in the pure tradition
of the French Bakery. The most ancestral techniques are combined to produce
bread, including the use of liquid leaven, and innovation with the most high
performance, modern, state-of-the-art bakery equipment. Eric Kayser is
recognized as one of the most talented artisan bakers of his generation, and
has built his reputation on his passion for bread, the quality of his
products and his incredible skill to combine authenticity and innovation in
the world of French artisanal bakeries.
This Maison Kayser is located on 8 W 40th St in New

Making bread...
Maison Kayser is an authentic artisanal French
Boulangerie, meaning that bread and other baked goods are mixed and baked
on-site all day long.

Le panier de Viennoiseries came with a croissant, pain au chocolat and
pain au raisin - $10
It is a steal but unfortunately it is not very good. The
pain au raisin was a bit burned and the croissant and the pain au
chocolat was just ok.
Jamon fume & deux oeufs (smoked ham with two
eggs)- $15
Looks promising and really delicious ....
I asked for over easy and like the egg yolk
to be runny and it what I got was definitely overcooked.
The store by itself is really nice, cozy, and
welcoming but the service was left to be desired.
Our waitress did not really care and she
disappeared for a longest time. Basically, she served us the food
and then left.
Needless to say this is the first time and it
is probably the last time here.
Next... walking around
