Las Vegas -1/15/12

Mon Ami Gabi Caesar Palace

Caesar Palace

By the time dinner was over, we were so full that we decided to take a walk to Caesar Palace for a bit of exercise and also it was too early to go to bed.  Caesar's Palace is a huge hotel and has a very cool shopping mall inside with the ceiling patterned to look like you are outside  with blue sky and fluffy clouds.

As soon as you walk in the lobby was decorated with red lanterns for Chinese New year.  This year is the year of the Dragon beginning at midnight on January 23, 2012.

The Chinese New Year officially brings thousands of domestic and international tourists to Las Vegas and injecting million of dollars into the city’s economy.  Good thing we came a week earlier so it is not that crowded!

Tall and bright red lanterns have taken their place inside Las Vegas hotels and casinos for the Chinese New Year.

You will also find lot of Mandarin trees in the hotel lobbies. This is a typical Year’s décor for Chinese new year and lots of red envelopes

More red envelopes hanging on tree blossom,  a sign that Las Vegas is ready to celebrate Chinese New year which is one of its most profitable periods of the year.

DAY 2

We had a very long day today!  We left the hotel at 10:00AM to grab an early lunch and then we went shopping from 11:00Am to 6:00PM (7 hours).  By the time we got back to our hotel we were so exhausted but we were so happy because we came back with a truck load of clothes, shoes, etc... we were in Haven!

We rested a bit and then we went to Dinner at Lombardi's restaurant located in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.  Lombardi's restaurant is an Italian restaurant, I have been there many times and the food is pretty decent.

We forgot to take the camera with us so these pictures were taken with Hoa's cellular phone and for some reason they are so tiny!  There is no way for me to enlarge them without compromising on the clarity of the picture!

We had a fun trip and I am looking forward to another trip soon...
