The Arrival Dinning-the food Tour of the kitchen Tuan's Comments

After dinner....

The waiter is handling our menu signed by Keller.  Each one of us got our own signed menu in a really nice folder.  Nice souvenir for sure!

All happy faces when dinner was over.  The food was excellent but don't take my word for me... If you eve have a chance give the restaurant a try.

The kitchen

We were ready to head out until our waiter offered us a tour of the kitchen...

By the time we got to tour the  kitchen, Thomas Keller already left for the evening.. (that's too bad).

The hall going to the kitchen

This is our waiter, Neo (only his back).  Menus are tapped on the top on the main table.

Looks like some lucky table is getting the Macaroni and Cheese (our favorite dish).  The kitchen was immaculate as it was expected.

Keller, known in the epicurean world as the master of spotless kitchen, has a reputation as a precise, uncompromising chef, and that's reflected in this kitchen right here.

There is nothing out of place, all the chefs are working harmoniously, no screaming nor yelling.  A far cry from Gordon Ramsey's T.V. Show "Hell's kitchen" in which Gordon ruled his kitchen as a tyrant.  Ramsey's restaurant ranked #5 in the world.

In Keller's absence, Corey Lee, Chef de cuisine runs the whole kitchen.

Thomas Keller,  was named the "Farberware Outstanding Chef of the Year" at the James Beard Foundation Awards in New York City. The prestigious Outstanding Chef award is the highest honor given to an American chef by the foundation. This is the second consecutive award to be given to Chef Keller, who received the Beard Foundation’s "Best Chef: California" Award.  No other chef has received consecutive "Best Chef" Awards in the Foundation’s history.

Note the five stars on the vent hood.

On the left is our Menu with Keller's signature.  On the right it is the French Laundry cookbook with Keller's autograph.

Keller wrote "it's all about finesse".  His handwriting is so beautiful!

By the way,Tuan insisted to have a complimentary cook book and the waiter just gave in and gave it away!

Remember the bouquet!!! well this tulip is from the bouquet on our dinning table.  We stripped down the bouquet and Tuan offer a tulip to each lady to take home.   I don't think it was mean for us to take home, but we did it anyway!  By the time we left the room, the bouquet looked pretty pathetic.

And on the top left corner is a complimentary butter cookie by the French laundry.

I hope you all enjoy viewing with us this culinary adventure of a life time!
