Xinchang is located at the confluence of two rivers, the Huangpu and the Dazhi river,

The canals were built to facilitate transportation and trade and have become iconic features of the town's landscape.

We are just strolling along the banks of the canal and admiring the architecture and the building along the way.
It was too early for lunch but I am sure all the seats will be filled by noon by hungry tourists.
Houses along the river were originally the abodes of wealthy and influential families.
