Blondies with Pecan and chocolate chips - 3/6/09

Blondies are often called brownies but without the chocolate!  For brownies it is all about the chocolate whereas for Blondies it's all about the brown sugar, giving them a distinctive molasses flavor. When Blondies are made right they are chewy, rich, and flavorful. To me, this is an indulgent dessert that are hard to resist.  This dessert is also very easy to make!  It took me less than 10 minutes to prepare and about 25 minutes in the oven and voila it is ready to be served.  Blondies go really well with a nice glass of cold milk or a hot cup of coffee. I also chose to add toasted walnut and chocolate chips to my Blondies but you can actually add any kind or nuts or even dry fruits to the Blondies.

I love the taste of the Blondies especially when they are still warm and the chocolate chips are still oozing!  Yum!

I packed them in a plastic bag and tied it with a bow!  Perfect for a little gift to friends.

Close look at the Blondies!  Once you have a bite you will not be able to resist eating anoter Blondie, they are so tempting!

Preparation work..

16 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cup brown sugar
2 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch salt
2 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts (pecan or walnut)

Equipment: 8x8 pan

The butter is melted and then well mixed with the brown sugar

One egg is added to sugar and butter mixture

Flour is added and mix it well together.

Next chocolate chips is added.

Here I am toasting the Pecan for maximum flavor.  You can use Walnut or any kind of nuts you like.

Then the nuts are added to the batter.

Preheat your oven at 350 degrees.

The batter is then poured into a baking pan and will go in the oven for 20/25 minutes

Freshly off the oven!
