3 days in Nha Trang-1/26- 1/29/2025

Day 1-Arrival

We flew from Saigon airport to Cam Ranh airport (Nha trang).  The flight is fairly short and took about 1 hour.

After a short one-hour flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, we checked into the Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, sitting right across from the beach.

Returning here felt especially meaningful because we had stayed at the same hotel back in 2007 and remembered it as one of the few true five-star hotels in the city at the time. Since then, Nha Trang has changed so much, with luxury hotels now lining the coastline, but we were curious to see whether Sunrise would still feel as special as we remembered.

To our surprise, the hotel has kept much of its original charm. The interior looked almost unchanged, elegant and classic in a way that now feels nostalgic. The lobby was especially beautiful, decorated with huge blossom trees for Tet celebrations, filling the space with color and a festive atmosphere the moment we walked in.

One of the things we remembered most about the Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa was its beautiful swimming pool, and seeing it again after all these years was just as impressive. The circular structure supported by tall columns still gives the hotel a grand, almost timeless elegance.

Later, we took a stroll along the main boulevard facing the beach.

Even after so many years, this part of Nha Trang remains incredibly pleasant to walk around.

Across the road, the beach stretched along the coastline with tall palm trees swaying in the ocean breeze.

Looking back from the promenade, the hotel stood out beautifully in white, with its curved windows and classical columns glowing softly in the evening light.

We crossed the street and walked onto the beach just after sunset, when the sky was still bright but the heat of the day had faded.

Rows of benches and white umbrellas lined the sand where people relaxed and enjoyed the peaceful view of the sea.

The gently curved coastline, with its seaside promenade and palm-lined boulevard, reminded me a little of the Promenade des Anglais along the French Riviera.

As we continued walking along the boardwalk in Nha Trang, it truly felt like the end of the day.

Most of the beach umbrellas had already been wrapped up for the evening, and the lounge benches sat empty facing the sea. Yet that quietness made the scene even more beautiful.

With so few people around, the beach felt calm and almost dreamlike in the fading light.

Far across the water, we could see the large “VinPearl” sign glowing on the hillside of Vinpearl Nha Trang.

We had visited there back in 2007, so seeing it again brought back many memories. Zooming in toward the island, we noticed how much it had developed over the years, with so many more buildings now visible along the coastline.

Further along the promenade, tall trees were decorated with countless yellow blossom branches tied around their trunks for Tet.

The bright flowers against the evening sky made everything feel festive and cheerful.

Looking back down toward the beach, we saw empty wooden tables and chairs resting quietly in the sand after sunset.

,While a little farther away colorful bean bags were scattered along the shore with nobody around.

The whole scene felt peaceful, almost cinematic, as night slowly settled over the bay.

Before heading back to the hotel, we stopped at a small beachside bar for margaritas while overlooking the sea.

The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet, with the sound of the waves in the background and the warm evening air drifting in from the beach. Sitting there with the lights of the coastline beginning to glow, it felt like the perfect way to end our first evening back in Nha Trang.

We are now walking back to our hotel and we are looking forward to have a good dinner tonight.
