Thanksgiving - 11/22/07

Dinner  time!

After roasting the Turkey in the oven for 3+ hours it is now ready.  This is my first attempt to roast a turkey and it turns out to be very good.  I actually under cooked it (not purposely) a bit so the thighs are still a little pink but the breasts are just perfect, moist tender and so juicy.  Since the thighs are on the pink side we threw them on the Barbeque for maybe a few minutes.  The result is a smoky and  perfectly cooked piece of meat.

The side Dishes are: roasted corn with shallots and butter, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans with garlic, and rice o'roni with mushrooms.

On the main course table we have on the right a roasted whole leg of lamb with herbs on a bed of potatoes , on the left we have the traditional roasted Turkey, and on a hot plate we had Civet de Canard (Duck's stew).

Here is a better look at the Civet de Canard served with Bacon (for a little crunch).  This year I even prepare fresh cranberry sauce from scratch.  It is actually so easy to make and it tasted so good with Turkey.
