WTA-Quarterfinal Women's tennis, Stanford, Ca-8/14/2015

WTA, (Women's Tennis Association) was founded in 1973 by Billie Jean King and is the worldwide professional tennis tour for women. Its counterpart organization in the men's professional game is the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

The Bank of the West Classic is the longest-running women-only professional tennis tournament in the world. Held on Stanford University’s campus at Taube Family Tennis Stadium since 1997 and former champions include: Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Andrea Jaeger, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport, Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Kim Clijsters.

It is a is a week-long tennis tournament and we got tickets to see the quarter final: Kerber vs. Radwanska.

Angelique Kerber -WTA World Ranking: #11

Germany- Plays: Left -Age: 27

Agnieszka Radwanska -WTA World Ranking: #14

Poland-Plays: Right-handed-Age 26

The format of the tournament is a 28-player singles main draw and a 16-team doubles main draw are held, all featuring best two-out-of-three set matches. A 32-player singles qualifying draw will be held for four main-draw entries, and a four-team doubles qualifying draw will be held for one main-draw entry.

We got VIP tickets and our parking space was a short distance to the tennis arena.

Hoa was called to work at the last minutes so I asked Loan to come with me.

We came a bit early so we could not get in the tennis court until 7:00PM

We got really good tickets... there are only 3 rows of seats in front of us and the tennis court is so close to our seats.

Tonight we are watching the women's single quarter finals - Kerber vs. Radwanska (look at the screen)

Radwanska starting the game really strong and won the 1st set 6-4

break in between games...

Kerber lost the first set but came back on the second set.

Radwanska was very consistent but Kerber took more chances on the second set and won 6-4

Kerber played really well on the 3rd set...

 

The crowd is definitely pro Kerber.  So many people are yelling : "GO KERBER"
