CityCenter in Las Vegas -6/14/10-6/14/10

Dinning at Mesa Grill CityCenter Chihule & Aria hotel

Day 2 - CityCenter

As we were walking from the CityCenter back to our hotel we saw the amazing gallery presenting Chihuly at CityCenter Dale Chihule is recognized for his masterful use of color, fluid forms and large-scale glass installations.  I saw his work displayed while vacationing in the Bahamas and I was very happy to stumble on this gallery.

Chihuly’s CityCenter exhibition highlight a number of his important works including the dramatic Lime Green Icicle Tower (top left) and an indigo-blue neon sculpture (on the bottom right).

Simply amazing!  What a treat for the eye!

As we left the gallery we looked back and there it is the impressive Aria Hotel in the background.

Aria Hotel is the only largest hotel in the world to earn a Leadership  in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Luxury boutiques in the CityCenter.  The Louis Vuitton store (on the left) is 3 stories high and is the largest one in California.  It has all the limited edition, jewelry and all of the Louis Vuitton models.

While we were checking out the CityCenter Kevin and Tiffany went to see "Penn and Teller show" at the Rio Casino.  Penn and Teller are eccentric magicians with a psychotic twist, whose act is an amalgam of illusion and comedy.  Penn is  a raconteur and Teller generally uses mine while performing, although he occasionally speaks.

Penn and Teller autographed Kevin's hand.

Teller's autograph is on the left on this picture and on the right is Penn's autograph.  Penn is 6 foot 7 and Teller is about 5' 10".
