Day 3: Changdeokgung Palace

Secret garden continuation

Small wooden doors

It was so hot that everyone is trying to stay in the shade.

Lots of trees around.

Gwanllamjeong Pavilion.

More views of the pavilion

We are now at Uiduhap pavilion.  It used to be a study, reading, and contemplation built by the Crown Prince Hyomyeong.

Devoid of the traditional vibrant colors and patterns of other palace structures, was used as a reading area.

A very Zen water fountain.

A beautiful tree with nice light green flowers

Closer look at the flowers on the tree.

We are now going around the pond.

View of the pond from another angle. Gwanllamjeong Pavilion is on the right.

Irises are in bloom

View of the pond from the shore.

More flowers around the area.

The tour is over and we are now making our way back to main gate.

Passing through the Buyongji pond on the right.

Passing through a gate...

Long road lined with tree on our way back to entrance.

Peaceful walk back....

We are now out of the secret garden and back to Changdeokgung palace.

Walking our way to main entrance of the palace.

Passing through Heungnyemun is the 2nd inner gate.

The ginormous courtyard.

One more gate and we will be out of the palace.

Once last view of the palace and we are out...

NEXT...Jongmyo Shrine
