Easter Sunday - 3/23/08

If you are non Christian then you probably would like to know what is Easter?

Christians celebrate Easter in observance of their belief that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion.

According to Scripture, Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion, is commemorated on Good Friday (the day Jesus died on the cross), always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

We were invited to Chi Tan's and Anh Hung's house for an Eastern Sunday Lunch.  I volunteered to bring a bunch of eggs so the kids can go egg hunting.  Since most of the kids are teenagers we had to entice them to go hunting for eggs by putting money and candies in the eggs.

Chi Tan made about 100 eggs and I brought about 70/80 eggs for the kids to go on a wild hunt!

Doan made a little speech about Easter Sunday and then explained how the rules of the game....

Doan wanted to give the young girls (4 and 6 years old) a head start by letting them go 5 minutes early!   All the teenagers screamed that 5 minutes is way too much time... In the end, 30 seconds was giving to the young girls before all the teenagers can participate in the hunt.

Mai, Ba Trinh, Tuan and Chi Tan checking out the kids.

Kevin listening to the rules..

Chi Tan had so much food that day that we barely made a dent!

It was a gorgeous day to have lunch in the back yard.

The game just started!   Michelle is running trying to get as many eggs as she can.  Kevin is smiling while picking up the eggs.

The kids are running around.... Chi Tan and Anh Hung have a really big back yard and it is just perfect for hunting eggs!

The game was over in less than five minutes. Time to walk around the yard to make sure if there are any eggs left over..

The girls were pretty smart, they teamed up and I think they collected a total of $35 amongst them and they slip it equally between them.

The boy did not fare as well as the girls but they got enough money to keep them happy!
